I have an extreme phobia of wasps. As soon as i hear a buzzing i freak out, and if a wasp has come near me i am constantly on edge after that, flinching whenever an innocent fly drops in my eyeline or even a speck of dust!! However, i'm not too embarrassed about this phobia as wasps are very aggressive in nature and i KNOW that they take great delight in stinging people (unlike bees who are just fluffy and cute)

I can't walk by a pile of large black garbage bags on the street without shuddering. I tend to cross to the other side to avoid these bags, as I associate them with rats. On more than one occasion I've seen rustling inside the pile and then a rat has jumped out from between the bags. Horrifying.

I cannot use public restrooms. Not only because of the filth, but because I am afraid someone else will be in there, and they will be able to hear me urinate. I won't even use the toilet at friend's houses- I can only use my own. I have gone days without using the bathroom just because I was away on a trip or spending the night at someone else's house.

I have an extreme phobia when people tent their fingers (like Montgomery Burns in The Simpsons). Or when the length of the fingers touch the bones in the opposite hand (like praying). However if they are overlapped even a bit, it is okay. I actually will slap people's hands out of the action when they do it!

I've always been quite proud to only have one phobia, and to generally consider myself quite tough - this is a phobia of crabs, which in middle England isn't much of an issue. I'm fine with spiders and heights and the 'usual' phobias I come across among my friends. But recently I've developed a phobia of opening and closing curtains. It's not about the fact that I worry who will see me, it's just the sound and the feel, and the worry that I'm going to knock something over. These are the only rational explanations I can come up with; I don't know if they're connected. My housemate is away at the moment and I've had all the curtains open for 2 weeks because I can't bear to close them.

I hate public restrooms. I will not use them unless it's the only option other than wetting myself. Even then, I won't go unless no one else is in there. For example, I cannot use the restrooms at school if there is another person present because I don't want them to hear me while I'm in there. Along with my fear of being heard, at home I will take measures such as turning on the fan and running the water to create another sound.

I have a few little OCD's. But one in particular stands out above the rest. When I visit my grann or my mother, I HAVE to open the fridge, freezer, and most all of the cupboards. I am not looking for anything, just have to open and close them. I dont know why, I've just always been like that. I have to fight off the urge to do so when I visit other people as well. And as soon as I get home, I do the same thing in my own home. I know it's kind of weird, and me being 26 yrs old, you would think that I would have out grown it by now, but Nope, still at it. lol

The oldest dream I can remember was about being chased by an elephant. I was always afraid of elephants. Once when I was 7 years old I had a temper tantrum and screamed out "Elephant! ELEPHANT!!" because it was the worst word I knew.

I can never eat the last bite of food on my plate. No matter how hungry I am, I always come to a halt when there’s one final bit left, whether it’s bread or meat or the last forkful of pasta. For years, my dog supplemented his diet of kibble with last bites of food from each of my meals.

I have to balance everything. When I get the volume I want on my MP3 player, I have to go one up, two down, two up, two down, one up. Doesn't take as long as it sounds. Also, if I scrape the sole of my shoe on the floor as I walk I have to the other one twice then the first one again. Same with scratching my ear, or the side of my head, face, arm, leg, whatever. Sometimes I still don't feel 'balanced' afterwards and have to scratch/touch both parts at the same time to 'reset' it all and make sure I'm balanced once and for all.
If I spin round to look at something, I have to spin back the way I came to 'even it out'.

Many offhand things I do depend on this x,y,y,x pattern, but I sometimes get the old double pattern problem where I have to contain that pattern within itself, i.e. xyyx yxxy yxxy xyyx.
