I'm thirteen years old and I am terrified to sleep in hotel beds and when I do I have to use my own pillow and my own blanket. The last time I went to a hotel I forgot both a pillow and blanket. My mom made me use a pillow from the hotel. I put a towel over it and I refused to use any kind of blankets from the hotel. Still I could not sleep. The whole night I got maybe two hours of sleep and in my dreams I was freaking out (like shaking and wanting to scream). I guess I'm scared the bedding isn't clean or something but all I know is I CANNOT sleep in hotel beds.

i LOVE being in the house all by myself its nice and its ok even if people are here too. but i CANNOT go down to the basement without freaking out, it always feels like someone or something is watching me. even when i know that nobody's in the house or that nobody's in the basement. dont get me wrong i believe in ghosts and i'm not scared of them when i see them (yes i see them) but theres something about my basement that i'm just freaked out over.

I have an irrational fear of escalators. I have no idea why I am afraid of them. I have to wait for at least 3 steps to go by then I get on and I feel nervous and sick until I get off.

I'm extremely afraid of volcanos/ lava. I have dreams that volcanos come up from the ground and the whole town is in panic, running from the lava. I recently moved on top of a bluff to feel safer from any lava that may rise from the ground.

One time I had a dream where I was in this giant type of gym sort of thing and if I walked outside I would fall into the sky. Some big spaces creep me out.

I'm terrified of airplane toilets

I am always afraid that they will flush me down. I only use them if I REALLY have to go.

I CANNOT go through a room that is rarely used in my house and night. It's always really dark in there at night and we barely ever use it so I not that familiar with it. I can't be anywhere near it.

I cannot be in a completely dark room at night. I always have to have a tiny chink of light showing through the curtains. I have slept in very dark, rural areas before in Ireland and the Lake District, and I have had to plug a night light in before I could sleep.

I'm really scared of boats. I get seasick but it's not just motion sickness. I'm actually feeling really anxious about the boat sinking! For that reason I call my condition 'emotion sickness' and try very hard to rationalise it away.

A couple of times in my life, I’ve been with friends who wanted to walk across a golf course at night, and on both occasions I felt terrified by the experience. I just had this overwhelming need to bolt for cover like a rabbit. Both times, the people with me wouldn’t take me seriously, because here we were on a lush, serene, quiet lawn -- how could I be so petrified?

I’m afraid to go to the bathroom in public stalls. If I’m in a bathroom at the airport or something, I will wait for an embarrassing amount of time until the moment that no one else is there, then I’ll pee as quickly as I can, but then hold it again if someone comes in. It’s so ridiculous, because what else WOULD I be doing in a bathroom stall but making a tinkling noise, yet I feel like I’m being scandalously rude. Never even mind if I have to go Number Two.
