General insanely abstract phobias

I have an extreme phobia of ET, the alien guy from the movie ET, directed by Steven Spielberg. ET is the scariest thing I have ever seen. The little guy just freaks me out.

I am scared of patterns: plain black lined patterns. They freak me out, just the very sight of them sends shivers down my spine. The more detailed they are, the more I have to fear!

I am terrified of lava. The way it moves and its deadly potential unnerve me to the core. I have never even seen lava in person but I know that I hate it. I have to close my eyes when I see volcanoes on t.v. Even cartoon lava has me sweating and shaking.

I used to go mad at the sound of a saucepan squeaking against the metal frame that was holding the pan above the gas. Our old one was rusty and everytime i think of the sound now it makes me cringe and i get goosebumps all down my back...

I have two phobias one is clusters like ants.balls.eggs,fish eggs and anything that lusters when i see something like it I feel sickand i get a chill up my spine. My second one is i cant reall explain it but big and smalls things together in my dreams some times i wake up and cry because im that scared

I hate cotten balls. I hate them. I can't touch them at all or anything that feels like them. The thought of chewing on a cotten bal (the feeling of it between your teeth and all) makes me quesy and i hate it.

When I was about ten, it seemed that getting a ringing in my ears would automatically make me afraid --- not afraid of anything in particular --- just afraid. This usually happened in bed when it was dark and quiet. Somehow I noticed that looking at the floor, perhaps because the night-light shone on it, would make me feel better. Then one hot summer night I realized that the fan was making noise that would prevent me from hearing the ringing noise. And so I started to sleep with a fan on and didnt have the fear problem anymore. Ringing in my ears doesnt really bother me anymore, but be it winter or summer, I can no longer sleep without my fan.

I have a fear of people named Chad. My doctor told me laughingly to call it Chadophobia, but I take it seriously and thought it would be nice to get it out there.

I can't stand the thought of being dragged. Any time I see someone in a movie or a cartoon being dragged across the ground, my stomach turns and all I can think about--even if it's a cartoon--is how painful the road rash would be.

Sound - I type as quietly as I can, I mute the TV when I first turn it on, then slowly turn it up, I open the microwave before it's done, and every time a dog barks I freak out and run away. Mom says when she was pregnant with me somehow I could hear police sirens outside, or fireworks, and I'd start freaking out.

In 6th grade I was blowing up a balloon for a science experiment... I didn't like it already because of another phobia I have - loud sounds... I was blowing up the balloon when someone popped it in my face. From then on whenever I even saw a balloon I would crawl under something and just cry. You can't imagine the horror on my face when I arrived at Prom to see that every inch of the floor was littered with balloons. And all those high heels? I nearly wet myself... I sure got out fast though!

The very thought of any type of fabric touching my teeth sends me over the deep end! I get the creepy crawlies worse than you could imagine.

I have a phobia about seeing the bottom of boats or ships - I simply cannot look at them.

If I see a boat out of the water or a shipwreck - especially a large tanker - I have to look away as it makes me feel physically sick.

I have a phobia of cotton balls. I have no idea why, but I hate the way you can stretch them apart. They have this weird, squeaky quality to them. If someone stuffed my mouth full of cotton balls, I’d probably have a heart attack and die. My wife has to remove them from all of our medicine bottles so that I can pull out a Tylenol or what have you.

I get freaked out by pencils. They remind me of finger bones, like when someone taps their pencil it’s as if they have this skeletal finger clicking and tapping on the desk They make me shudder.
